Macaque does not die when Monkey King makes his killing blow to his eye. Macaque crawls his way out of the abyss he has made for himself for loving wukong.Instead of dedicating his live in hating wukong and seeking revenge and making his life miserable in the process. He decided to prove everyone wrong macaque doesn't need wukong to be happy or fulfilled in life.

Summary
Wukong is basically created so that he can be sacrificed instead of MK, but Xiangliu breaks the stone egg and corrupts Wukong's mind. Wukong has been trying to kill himself throughout the Brotherhood (then Nuwa whispered to the stone egg in his mind that if you sacrifice yourself, everyone will be at peace) but Macaque always stopped him. While Macaque was on a journey after the war, Wukong was kidnapped and brainwashed by Lady Bone Demon.

At the first chance he ran. Macaque wasn't about to be used by the Lady Bone Demon, but it wasn't really in his plan to run into MK and his group of friends. He didn't really have a choice to stay though his powers were on the fritz and his injuries were enough to slow him down. He would just have to deal with Wukong for awhile and the stupid emotions that were resurfacing as they find themselves on the same side again.

“Hey Monkey King what, uh, what are you doing here?” MK joins in, nervous. He peeks out from behind Macaque to see the monkie’s smile grow larger, almost too large. It brings a shiver down MK’s spine.
… And when did it get so cold?
MK grips his furry arms, trying to find some warmth. Surprisingly, it doesn’t work. Even his new, fluffy fur can’t stop the weird coldness. They let a gasp out and white air is breathed into the supposedly summer night.
Uh oh.
“Mon-” MK goes to speak up, but the king's smile stretches up like a horror movie, shutting them up in fear. Nevermind. This is not his beloved mentor.

OR an alternate universe where the world ends during Monkey Kings journey to the west and he manages to save the world BEFORE Mk is hatched to complete his duty. And so, Lady Nüwa, knowing Mk is too powerful for the world to handle, decides to raise him in her temple.

Summary
This was not what MK was expecting when he asked the Macaque to be his teacher. This apartment was made out of those Shipping containers. The space felt a lot bigger inside than it actually was. Macaque was dressed a lot more casual than Monkey King, in fact, Macaque's seemed to have a preference for baggy clothes. Macaque welcomed MK in with open arms, he was always seemingly nervous but also seemed like he saw MK as a friend despite both of them meeting an hour ago. “Alright, the first lesson is pretty simple, good for beginners I think.” and that was the second thing MK didn't expect. The monkey liked to play video games.
He didn’t know how to react when Macaque betrayed him.
A while after that happened, Sandy came to Pigsy's noodles with a little black monkey child who is determined to cause as much chaos as possible.

Bai he finished chewing in the red sleeve she had been eating before reaching out a hand. “So we got a deal?”
OR: Mk Mei and Redson from a world were the Brotherhood won against heaven (Alt. for convenience) get sent to a world were Lbd won in season three (Idol world). They make a deal with they’re Idol counter parts to help them get home, in exchange they’ll need to help the Idols with a problem they have. If only the Idols actually told them what that problem was!
