And Xiao feels his heart walking away from him. He can’t blame the traveller. He wouldn’t dare to blame Aether. All he had to blame was himself. The guilty of always pushing the blonde away, even if he wasn’t aware by his own actions, on the back of his head.
Aether is right, he couldn’t wait on forever for Xiao to finally understand what love is, he doesn’t have the time as Xiao does.
Seeing his love smile brightly at someone else rather than himself hurts his heart. He’s glad that Aether can at least be happy with someone else, even if that person isn’t him.
He should have realized sooner that he couldn’t have someone as pure as the traveller to himself.
