Sometimes Muzan wonders if bringing his past disguises to life as their own people was really worth the hassle. On one hand, having more versions of himself watch over the kingdom gave him more control and awareness of what was happening when he wasn't 'looking' at his subjects.
On the other, he was getting tired of their bullshit. Or, rather, a particular one who annoyed him more than the others combined could ever.

Summary
Muzan stared at the vicious twists of flesh that made up the disturbing form of whatever Tanjirou decided to depict on the paper. The thing looked like it came from the deepest pits of hell, its face contorted in a derisive sneer. The misshapen limbs reminded him of what happened in the Dungeon, and the entire piece was framed by unsettling looking mounds (?) of tangled (?) limbs (?). Though, looking closely at the particular shapes, he thought he saw-
-”Tanjirou”
-”Mmh?”
-”Is this Douma?”
The human beamed at him with the brightness of a thousand suns (ouch). He felt a little smug that he guessed right. Tanjirou could give the author of the Mainichi Shinbun puzzles and guessing games a run for his money.
-”You know, I really think you’ve captured his true nature. This is exactly how I see the real thing. It’s as if you distilled everything that makes him him.”
Or the AU where, after meeting a suspiciously familiar looking child, Muzan decides that exposure therapy is a good thing and maybe kidnaps said child (oops)

A deep chill fell over the prisoner’s body and his eyes widened, the man’s muscles locking up as he momentarily forgot how to breathe at the very sight of those earrings.
They invoked a visceral, fearful reaction from deep within his chest, his entire body freezing up as he simply watched the earrings gently sway, a sudden memory emerging in his mind as he stared.
