Heizou calls himself a variety thinker. What he sees is what he will believe and whatever his intuition says he will trust. But alas, he does not believe in Guuji Yae’s words as she tells him the tale of the red string of fate. Stories from Yae can vary from fictional romance tales to sad folk tales from the past. She is unpredictable to the detective. Heizou passes this as some sort of way for Yae to tease him.
However, after that specific conversation, Heizou wakes up the next day with a flushed face. To his shock, there is a bright red string tied to his pinkie in a little bow. How embarrassing. He shouldn’t have doubted the shrine maiden. He shouldn’t have talked at all.
TLDR; Kazuhei Red String of Fate AU in which Heizou panics about Kazuha being his fated one because he doubts himself a lot

She doesn’t know how to deal with it without wanting to cry. Out of anyone in their family, Nana gets along with Heizou the most, and thus this… his death hurt a lot more than it should.
Seeing his unresponsive body that day was one of the worst memories that will stick to Nana for as long as she lives.
