Summary
Fate had once again brought Koushuu to Eijun. Just when he thought he could let Eijun go and not care, he was unknowingly following him. Koushuu shouldn’t be allowed to love anyone this much.
He shouldn’t be so drawn to someone he had never met and seen pitch once, but with just one single outside fastball, Eijun had wrapped his heart in kudzu vines. His love growing more and more for Eijun each day, like the vines. Only it wasn’t killing him like kudzu vines did to so many ecosystems, no instead Eijun was pulling him in and feeding him bowls light and hope.

He begins his windup— carefully, he raises his right leg high up and aims at Miyuki’s mitt. As he turns, twisting his hips, he focuses on the way his weight shifts, on how the lower part of his body moves, on placing the right arm wall in front of himself, and as he swings his arm fully he can almost already hear it— the thwat produced by Miyuki’s mitt as he catches the ball.
He straightens up, waiting for the umpire to declare the third out, but it doesn’t come. None of what he was expecting comes.
