Summary
Julia takes pride in her intelligence and independence, and she presents herself as such: hair neatly braided, clothes freshly ironed, and standards impossibly high. She's as prim and proper as they get, ever the straight arrow her father raised her to be.
And Sahed is...not. With a playboy personality and powerlifter physique, he's everything Julia isn't: scruffy, sleep deprived, suave as hell, with full tattoo sleeves to boot. He's got 'trouble' written all over him, so why does Julia constantly find herself looking for sun-kissed skin and a mess of fluffy curls?

Summary
It was exactly the kind of furniture she would imagine Sahed to keep; soft, worn, and comfortable but no less beautiful than anything else he owned. She wanted to fall asleep in it, hidden away from the bustle of the circus and her endless worries about Kamille.
Just her, and Sahed, too, if he were willing to have her here, listening to him work while she finally got more than a couple hours of sleep. It surprises her with how desperately she wants it, and a part of her wants to cry or scream or something to get this horrible yearning for some place quiet to go away. She sighs, burrowing her face into the cushions and trying to pretend that she can’t hear Sahed stop and watch her for a couple minutes to make absolutely sure that she’s fine. He’s her open book just as much as she is his, and he’s always known how to keep her engaged. She hates it (needs it to stay sane.)
Or, from a timeline where Julia and Sahed were taken to the Aspett Research Center by Amalia after their attempted murder of Tonny, Rainah and Kamille try to save their loved ones from an equally unfortunate fate. What they don’t know is that their return to the past may bring some unpleasant memories with it.

Summary
Julia hated crying. And yet, it seemed that since her death all she’d done was cry. Or be close to crying, which wasn’t really any better.
She’d imagined the afterlife to be more peaceful. Less teary. Had she ever even believed in an afterlife? There was no scientific basis to believe in an afterlife. But even if death was simply an ending, a nothingness stretching out into forever, there would be no tears there. No conspiring, no murder, no destruction of all your preconceived notions about your family, your friends, your nation.
And yet, here she was, after life, sobbing in a mushroom hat on the office floor of a man she had just tried to kill, her second death approaching on sickly, golden hands.

Summary

Summary
The streets that day were busier than usual and the air was full of celebration. The usual May Day parade was going on in the main street and people huddled together and shouted for joy between drinks as floats filled with flowers and costumed individuals passed through the crowd throwing confetti. Julia really could not stand all this fuss.
