This wasn't and couldn't be happening to him. He’s losing control of the situation and it's only now that he realizes that he can't remember the last time that a client had laid their hands on him.
Distantly, in the back of his mind, he knows the reason for that. It was Mob, his sweet and kind disciple, who had always intervened when Reigen was threatened. Stepping between anything or anyone that Mob deemed a threat to his Shishou.
Reigen had failed to treasure the protection that Mob had offered him so selflessly—too caught up in his own schemes or cons to realize all that Mob did for him.
He really had taken advantage of Mob’s kindness, hadn't he?
With Mob chased off by his lies, Reigen stands no chance against the monster that he finds at his doorstep.
Or in which an old client of Reigen's gets revenge during the separation arc.

“I uh…” Dimple glanced at Mob on Reigen’s back, shutting her eyes tight and wrapping her arms around Reigen's neck like it was a lifeline. After a few beats, Dimple said reluctantly, “I think I saw you naked just now.” And if Dimple didn’t already have those big red dots on his cheeks, Reigen could imagine him blushing furiously. “In Shigeko’s head, I mean.”

it’s an innocent hobby, he would defend himself. i’m doing something good here, serves all these fucking creeps right. he just about had enough to distribute the stolen stuff to several characters of his own, each of a different job to be able to equip the appropriate kind.
