Himeko and Kafka had actually started looking into various ways to have a child together almost 2 years ago, and after heavily considering various options, everything from IVF to a sperm donor, they eventually settled on adoption, deciding it would be the best option for starting their family together.
And now, after 11 long months of waiting, and going through the whole process of contacting an agency, completing a home study, submitting the application, waiting to be selected, and finally, finally meeting her, they were driving to the adoption center for the last time.

Summary
Firefly and Stelle were having one of their regular anime date nights, watching the newest season of Firefly's favorite mecha anime.
Eventually, a simultaneous notification sound was heard from both of their phones in the middle of an episode. "Let me check that out, Starlight, I bet you got pretty much the same thing," Firefly offered as she paused the video and pulled out her phone.
"It's a new script from Elio! Let me read my part for you if you don't mind... 'Pretend that you and Stelle are a newlywed couple on their honeymoon. Kafka will help you obtain your disguises...'"
Firefly's cheeks were burning from embarrassment as she read the script. "You and I, a married couple..." She didn't know what to make of this script, a hundred thoughts running through the insecure girl's head all at once, making her speechless. Meanwhile, Stelle seemed to be looking forward to it more, "Let me make it clear, I won't be wearing a feminine dress, Fly. Suit or nothing, with pants and all." "You tease," Firefly giggled, pulling Stelle closer again, "You always know how to reassure me. I bet you'd look so handsome in a fancy masculine suit, Starlight."

Summary
The era of Trailblazing has come to an end. The two masterminds of the Astral Express—Welt and Himeko—have reluctantly concluded that continuing the journey is no longer feasible. Now, the crew of the Astral Express has gone their separate ways: March 7th is chasing the elusive Memokeepers, Dan Heng is caught up in the political turmoil of the Luofu, and Welt wanders the galaxy alone. As for Himeko, she has taken in a child the crew discovered during their last venture. With golden eyes that glimmer like a thousand shooting stars, Himeko names her Stelle.
As expected, raising a child proves to be as messy as it gets. Himeko struggles to settle down, realizing she can no longer escape her past.

If I try to ask about it, or look into it myself, I’m met with concern about why, and meaningless platitudes that I shouldn’t let it define who I am. Even against our foes, who openly mention the Stellaron, who plan to use it in their schemes, there is no acknowledgement. No recognition. As if the very idea of talking about it is somehow going to hurt me.
“I was naive when I first woke up, and there wasn’t anything I could do about that. But I don’t want to be naive anymore. I want to understand what’s happening, what I am, how to protect myself. If the Astral Express is determined to hide that information from me, then I’ll find it on my own.” She looked to Kafka, watching her with an unreadable expression. “Is that so wrong, to want answers? Would you have gone along with it?”
Before Kafka can answer, from the back of the room, a new voice spoke up. “No. She wouldn’t.”

Summary
Of course the Stellaron Hunters had something to do with this. They always did. She swears that wherever the express goes, trouble follows, and in this case the trouble is that damned organization or group or faction or whatever the hell they want to call themselves.
They're like comic supervillains, constantly antagonizing the express in the stupidest ways, leading them on wild goose chases and regularly involving them in Elio’s script against their will. It's honestly infuriating.
…Not to mention that her own ex-girlfriend, Kafka, is a part of them. That doesn't make it any better at all. In fact, it makes it a thousand times worse, because now Himeko knows that Kafka is nearby, lurking somewhere or doing something, just waiting for the right moment to pop out of the shadows and scare the shit out of her just for the hell of it, or more realistically, planning to get her involved in the script again in some horrible roundabout way without ever actually explaining what she's supposed to do. Typical.

When the Astral Express breaks down on Jarilo-VI, Himeko finds herself in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. Even with the help of new friends and old rivals, will it be enough to save Belobog?
