Fontaine was advanced, more advanced than Mondstat. Kaeya had convinced Diluc to come visit Fontaine with him, Jean, and Lisa.
One thing led to another, and Diluc was being dragged inside of a party by Kaeya, and then lost his brother. He couldn’t find him and wasn’t paying attention to who was around him
He didn’t notice the two girls following him, planning to drug him.

Summary
Albedo, usually one for blunt and quick actions, was struggling to determine how he should continue. On one hand, marking the death as suicide, as it very much appeared to be, would immediately close the case and give the bereaved family some much needed closure. But could Albedo really do that when so many things didn't line up?
Sitting back in his chair Albedo let out a deep breath. He scanned down the page reading the provided boxes.

Picking up quill with a steady hand, Albedo marked the fourth and final box with a neat cross mark.
Death under suspicious circumstances.
Albedo stood, waiting for the ink to dry before gently picking the piece of paper up.
Albedo had a new assignment. As head of the Knights of Favonius Investigation Unit, Albedo was not going to let the cause of Diluc Ragnvindr's death go unknown.
When Diluc is reported dead as what appears to be a suicide, Jean struggles to keep it together, Kaeya is left in shambles, and Albedo begins to uncover the web of secrets and lies that Diluc left behind.

Summary
Years have passed since Kaeya revealed the truth of his origins, and in that time, his relationship with Diluc has only grown more strained. Despite Kaeya’s attempts to bridge the distance between them, the coldness from Diluc remains, leaving Kaeya to wrestle with guilt, loneliness, and the fear of never finding a place where he truly belongs. As they face a mission together, old wounds resurface and a choice must be made: to continue down a path of destruction or to seek forgiveness and healing.
He could feel his hands trembling slightly as he clenched them at his sides. “I never asked for forgiveness,” he said softly, the sharpness in his tone gone now, replaced by something far more fragile. “I only wanted you to know the truth.”
Diluc’s gaze hardened, and for a moment, Kaeya thought he might lash out again, that the anger bubbling beneath the surface would break free. But Diluc simply stared at him, eyes burning with a deep, smoldering hurt that Kaeya hadn’t seen in years.
“The truth,” Diluc repeated, his voice laced with bitterness. “Do you even understand what that means anymore, Kaeya?”

"Diluc, who are 'they'?"
"The Fatui. They're marching to Mondstat now, Dottore, Pantalone, Capitano and Tartaglia are with them to take the city. We can't beat them or stop them, Kae. You need to leave now."
"Wait- Diluc, slow down- What are you talking about?"
"The Fatui are on their way to invade Mondstat right now. They're going to take all of the Knights to make sure no one rebels. I know they will. You have to leave!"

The Fatui plan and execute an invasion of the City of Mondstat at night, led by Dottore, Pantalone, Capitano, and Tartaglia. Diluc manages to warn Kaeya before they get to him, giving him time to flee the city so he may seek help from the neighboring countries.
However, they both know that Diluc isn't getting out of this unscathed.-

Summary
"Spiderwebs and Secrets" is the main fic in this series, and "Monochrome Memories" is sort of a precursor but can definitely be read on it's own. I might add some more fics to this series, and I might not. I guess we'll see what happens

Summary
After a rescue attempt in a high-tech Fatui base goes wrong, Diluc is killed for the sake of an experiment and Kaeya is helpless to stop it. Weeks later Kaeya investigates what the Fatui had been studying at the facility and the identity of the scientist that killed Diluc. He eventually discovers that they were working on something called 'Project Lazarus' and is able to glean the location of their main facility.
When Kaeya infiltrates the facility to gather intel, he discovers that Diluc alive and being contained there. It quickly becomes clear that something is not right with his brother however. The most concerning aspect of which is that he has lost his memory entirely. Determined to make everything right, Kaeya manages to leave with him and the evidence he'd collected from the facility, bringing them back to Mondstadt.
There he is forced to rebuild his relationship with Diluc from the ground up, all the while continuing his investigation of Project Lazarus with the intent of taking it down once and for all...[On hiatus but not abandoned- 12/24]

A hand darts out to grip Diluc’s flailing arm, keeping him from keeling over. Diluc almost jerks himself away, which would most definitely have resulted in him eating cobblestone, before he registers the sound of a familiar voice. “You idiot,” it says. “Are you trying to get yourself killed?”
Diluc grimaces and looks to his left, where Kaeya has materialized out of thin air. “Where the hell did you come from?”
Kaeya gingerly helps Diluc maneuver himself into a sitting position against the wall. “Don’t you think it’s perfect weather for a walk?” the Cavalry Captain says.
Diluc manifests a bottle of antiseptic and a roll of bandages from his Vision’s subspace as he shoots Kaeya a skeptical look. “It’s an hour past midnight. You take walks at this time of day?”
Diluc gets stabbed on Darknight Hero duty. But have no fear, Kaeya is there to help!
Bickering ensues. What else are siblings for?

“...You only call me ‘yours’ when I do.” he whispered.
Something in Crepus’s expression broke.
“Oh, son.”
He reached out and pulled Diluc in, embracing him closely like he hadn’t in a long while.
“I’m truly sorry,” he whispered to Diluc’s forehead, planting a soft kiss on it. “I never wished for you to think you need to prove yourself to earn my praise. You’ve been doing so much and I wish I’d have let you know that it’s enough. That you’re enough.”
"...you say anything?"
There was a moment of silence before Kaeya responded. He sounded tired.
"It wouldn't have mattered."
"Of course it would–"
"It wouldn't." Kaeya's voice rose, choked in stifled hurt. "They just… don't listen to me. They won't accept me as their Captain because– cause I'm not Diluc."
Diluc faltered. The Cavalry… didn't obey Kaeya? Was that the source of his setbacks?

Summary
Venti was nice.
Kaeya was still the best– no one could ever beat his big brother. But Venti was also nice. He took Diluc seriously, and his training was always fun. Plus, the anemo vision he wielded was just like Diluc's. So it was no wonder how Diluc tried to sneak away to spend more time with him. Only time could tell how long Diluc's little ruse could last.

An age swap au where Kaeya is twelve years older than Diluc, and Crepus dies on Diluc's ninth birthday. Things play out a bit differently, but Diluc is safe in the hands of his dear older brother.

What would happen if someone’s vision was broken? Like the Vision’s stolen by the Vision Hunt Decree, it might go grey and be unusable. The person would lose their memory and ambition, and be a husk of who they once were.
Kaeya walked into the Dawn Winery, predicting Adelinde coming up and bowing, being all polite before telling him, “The young master is upstairs in the master bedroom.” And he would hop up the stairs, skipping a step each time, before walking down the hall. Everytime he paused in front of the door, taking a deep breath. Then he would open the door to see Diluc.
