Summary
In Northern England, Cumbria, to be exact, a well of magic forms and grows within only a few days. Sending out his best students, Dean Fogg hopes to resolve the situation, but will they come back triumphant, or will they come back worse than they were?
Or, door number three... Perhaps they won't come back at all.
OR the one in which dark magic messes with their heads, and when have they ever reacted normally to set backs?

Summary
A series of scenes following the season 4 finale. Warning: NOT A RESURRECTION FIC. Basically, this was my half baked idea of how they might do (part of) a season 5 where they kept the permadeath but still made use of Jason Ralph.

Summary
post 4x13 canon divergent (literally throw the whole fifth season in the trash)
would you trust in a light that you cannot see?
It is said, when you move on, that you go to where you are needed most but sometimes where you are needed most is exactly where you left in the first place.
While the Dark King has reduced the kingdom of Fillory to ashes, Eliot recovers from his wounds at the Mosaic Cottage, Margo is on the war path for her throne, Julia searches for her true purpose, Alice tries to fix everything she broke with a little help, Kady stands on the frontlines, and Quentin tries his very best to make it back home, but it proves to be more challenging than any warning could've predicted. Magic is unpredictable, causing disruptions and devastations across the universe and there is only one person who may be able to make it right.
Spoiler: this story will have a happy ending.

Summary
His secret is out. His real name isn't Sir El von Waugh, who hails from Braekenbillzen. He's not a knight at all. He's just a peasant. One who lied and cheated his way into competing in dozens of tournaments, just to chase after his dreams that a man can change his stars. But now, there's nothing left for him to do, except stand in the city square, locked in the stockade, and await the judgement of those he deceived. Eliot Waugh is ready for whatever hardship may come. He's more than used to it. Until the worst happens, and his friends show up to his defense, knowing full well that saving him might cost them their own lives.
Written for The Magicians Monthly Prompt Challenge, "Royalty."

Summary
A simple rule of the Universe: once someone has died, you must never attempt to bring them back. Must not. Not cannot. The existence of the principle implies the possibility; there’d be no need to create rules for an impossible thing.
Quentin Coldwater steps through a door, and thus ends his story. But the story for the others is only beginning, and Alice and Eliot aren’t about to take it lying down.
Or: the road to hell turns out to be paved with good intentions, soul-searching, and maybe a sacrifice or two.

Summary
On the tablet Eliot saw a webpage from the New York Daily News, and at the top was a picture of an old woman, holding her own death certificate and smiling. The headline said, "DEAD RISE AGAIN IN QUEENS, BROOKLYN."
Margo said, "You bitches better sober up, because this is a massive goddamn problem, and it just might get us our friend back."
Even in the middle of tragedy, sometimes you can have a cosmically lucky accident.

Summary
Penny, in true Penny form, rolls his eyes, stepping aside to impatiently motion them out of the elevator and into a shockingly white room. “Calm down, you guys don’t have to worry about me. I’m fine down here,” he hands them two glasses of what turns out to be an also shockingly good Scotch. “You’re here for Quentin, right?”
“Yeah,” Julia nods, eyeing his suit and tie suspiciously, “are you going to try and stop us?”
It brings a burst of laugh out of Penny. “God, no. Please, take him with you,” he shakes his head, “do you have any idea how much trouble he’s causing here?”
And that brings an almost-smile out of Eliot, because yes, that does sound like him. “Please, do tell.”
*
or, first, Eliot grieves. Then, Julia finds a hare-brained solution that's right up their alley. After that, a lot of talking happens.Alternatively titled, Eliot and Julia's adventure in the Underworld.

Summary
Quentin is staring at Eliot with those big sad eyes that Alice remembers, his hand twitching like he wants to reach out, while Eliot hunches up like a vulture and crumbles one of Josh's ungodly delicious muffins into a pile of raisins and crumbs. Alice deserves coffee, and she doesn't deserve this, and she almost just grabs her shoes and goes to goddamn Starbucks.
Or: Alice, Eliot, a pocket dimension, a spell, and the healing power of friendship.
