Summary
Another shot resounded from the ship formerly known as the Revenge, falling short by at least a couple of yards. Stede peered down at the ripples in the water where the ball had landed, then back up and across at his old ship.

Summary
Josiah Burgess looked as if he’d seen a ghost, which was exactly the reaction Stede had hoped for. If their little performance on the beach had been enough to convince him, then it had probably been enough to convince Hornigold as well.

Summary
Josiah stared out at the shoreline, hazy with smoke, the white sands scattered with debris. Hornigold and Hands were both down. Couldn’t see if Thomas was still there. If he was, he wouldn’t be for long, not bleeding out as fast as he was. Gut wound too.

Summary
Years ago, when he’d read about the Knights of Camelot and great heroes and tournaments, Stede had always wondered what it would have been like to be a knight, getting ready for a big battle, putting on his armour to face an enemy.
As he tied his cravat, his image blurred in the distorted glass, it felt exactly like that. Silly, really, since he was just getting dressed as he always did, but it felt more significant today.Series

Summary
“Yeah.” Ed rattled his fingers on the table, staring down at it. “Fuck, he’s just being insulting now. Like mate, come on. I know you think you know my moves, but really? Could just put a fucking great sign up that says ‘this is a fucking trap!’ and get it over with.”

Summary
“This isn’t fucking necessary,” Hands snapped, holding up his bound wrists.
“I’ll be the judge of that,” Hornigold replied amiably, lacing his fingers together over his belly. “I’ve been waiting for Ned and his pet to make a move. What’s to say this isn’t their first shot across my bow?”Series

Summary
Izzy snatched up the piece of paper off the table, shaking it in his face. “Did you even take in any of this, you complete prat?! This wasn’t part of the plan! This is– fucking hell, one problem is bad enough but this isn’t one fucking problem! This is a fucking fleet! If they spot us, we are fucked.”

Summary
Things were in motion already, pieces in play, but almost every part of the so-called plan depended on everything falling exactly as they expected it to. And Edward wouldn’t hear a word heard against it. They were fucking doing it and that was that.

Summary
The golden light outlined his husband on the bed, sitting with his hands in his lap. Click-click-click. Crouching down at his knees, Ed saw too late what he was holding. The other half of the petrified orange. Slowly, slowly, tapping both halves together, matching them, two halves of a whole.
“I thought,” Stede said suddenly and clearly, “he might be lying, but it fits together.” His face crumpled up and the orange pieces rattled between his hands and his voice splintered to bits. “It fits together.”
The orange hit the floor with one, two thumps, as Ed surged up and pulled Stede into his embrace. “We’re gonna get the hatling back,” he promised. “And that motherfucker is going to regret even thinking about messing with us and ours.”A continuation of Turning Tides
