“Of you?” John said, incredulous. “God, no. Why would I be afraid of you?”
He shivered as Byron pulled him close, breath tickling his ear as he whispered, “Because I killed four people just to get you here.”
John’s belly did a full backflip as goosebumps swept across his skin. In one smooth motion, he twisted under the larger man, jerking Byron’s arm out to the side to toss him on his back. He planted his palms on either side of Byron’s head, staring down into those hunter’s eyes as he slowly, deliberately ground their hips together. “Then it would be a shame,” he said, dropping to his elbows and bringing their faces only inches apart. “Going to all that effort to get me here only to do me in, don’t you think?”
“Careful, John,” Byron growled.
