Summary
Chilled's body moves on it's own, ignoring the input he tries to give. The icy air does not force his body to shiver, despite his wet clothing, no his body stands firm, even as he fights and screams in his own mind to stop his arm from raising- the crossbow lines up, pointed straight at an unsuspecting Ze. Not even a finger twitches as he tries to force his hands away from the- the trigger is pulled, the bolt shoots forward with a snap as Junk lets out a shout-
"What the hell- Chilled!" Junk's voice sounds distant, even as he shouts in his face. Chilled's body is already moving to reload as Junk stumbles to the ground, holding his side where the bolt had grazed him when he pushed Ze out of the way. Chilled feels sick at the satisfaction his body feels when the Changewing acid starts working on Junk's wound- "chilled?" Ze's voice is impossibly quiet, disbelieving, even as the crossbow is lifted and pointed to him. "this is not you. you- you wouldn't hurt us- hurt me Chilled."
As Junk's groans of pain are absorbed by the snow around them, as a man looks upon his best friend, as a man begs and screams and fights for control of his own body- everything ends with a thump and a sharp cry of pain.
