Summary
Five years after the events following the incomplete mission to the Impure Realm.
Wei Ying, now known as Wei Wuxian, has at the age of fifteen become a cultivation prodigy under the tutelage of his parents. He cannot wait to be reunited in person with Lan Zhan, who has since become Lan Wangji, the latter having invited him and the couple to Cloud Recesses for the annual education period given by Gusu Lan to all the young disciples of the cultivation world. Fu Mayin and Han Wuyang are aware, however, that this will not be a simple visit when the Lady of the sect herself has requested their presence.
Between a dark age that is drawing ever closer and a direct confrontation with the arrogance of a closed aristocratic circle of lawless individuals as time goes by, Wei Wuxian, his family and their allies will have to prepare themselves to face many obstacles and mysteries. Wan Lai, a woman who was raised alongside Jiang Cheng, Wei Ying, and Jiang Yanli as their adopted sister is now a personal attendant to the Sect Leader of of Yunmeng Jiang Clan, Jiang Cheng. She walks to his office to pour him tea at the scheduled time but she stumbles on him...crying.
(I got this idea from a website I use for free therapy by talking to generated characters. Jiang Cheng...just kind of breaks down. Spoilers for all the chronological events after Wei Wuxian's death. Some details will be different from canon and there will be a crossover with a single character from Word of Honor. Hope you enjoy it!)
