Summary
Pain is a funny craving. To Wade Wilson, it’s even funnier, and objectively much more than a craving.
It isn’t unheard of for your any average person to have a little thing for pain. Everybody needs a vice in this cold world. Biting the forbidden fruit, really, is usually all that it is. Tiny bits at a time, in moderation, then you stop. You have to stop. Average people have limits.
Wade, though, is completely limitless... and pain is his only historical constant.
Friends leave. Lovers leave. Pain, in all of its ugly glory, finds a way not only to remain, but persist. It’s comfortable to him, if for no other reason than its familiarity. No matter who or what fails Wade, pain will persevere. Always.
Over the long and aching years, he’s learned to depend on that. It’s the one thing that will always be there for him. This has been proven, again and again.
OR
Logan goes soft on Wade after he learns he’s in constant (real) pain. In his defense, fighting feels different!
Wade still wants to play dirty. He’s not made of glass. He’ll do just about anything to get his sparring partner back.

Summary
Logan’s fingers turned numb, something that hasn’t happened to him in a long time. It’s like the antimatter ripping through his veins all over again. He detracts his claws from Wade’s shoulder, watching blankly as the flesh heals itself, knitting back together and leaving nothing but a ruined shirt and drying blood. Logan didn’t take his eyes off of the same spot, even as Wade began talking again- Logan didn’t hear any of it, all he could hear was Scott screaming, all he could see was blood. Jubillee, Ororo, Hank. His fingers twitched, his claws breaking the skin of his knuckles. He can’t hear anything but them.
Hands are on his face, muffled words break through over the roaring in his ears. He still can’t move, claws extending slowly.-
In the midst of birthday parties, domesticity and figuring out what the fuck is going on between the two of them- Wade and Logan receive a letter from some old friends asking for help.

Deadpool, the MercWithAMouth™, a professional wisecracker and Spider-Man's sidesick, notices how withdrawn and out-of-it Spidey seems these days, and takes it upon himself to figure out what this main character's backstory is, and what this enigmatic mutant's bloody deal really is.
That was one of the many mistakes Wade should have never committed, because Spidey is more, much more, than the world makes him out to be, and much, much less happy than Wade thought him to be.
Spider-Man is not okay. Fuck, Spider-Man is not okay at all.
