Summary
Sokka is a practical kind of guy. Reasonable. Science-minded. A connoisseur of facts. This makes traveling with the Avatar and his prodigy baby sister on a quest to save the world one wacky adventure at a time... a little stressful. He could do with a day off. But hey, they're his family now, and he's prepared to go through whatever he has to to keep them safe. He's less prepared to be saddled with the care of his worst enemy. Even if the kid is more quiet and adorably determined than scary when he stops being angry. Even if he's careful with his bending around them and sounds desperately sad whimpering in his sleep. Even if he only knows who they are sometimes, and the rest of the time he's shy and sweet and gentle in a completely not-Zuko kind of way. They're breaking this Spirit curse and sending him back. They are not keeping him. Sokka is putting his foot down, and not allowing anyone to get attached.

Summary
Zuko looked up at his father, face wet with tears. Ozai reached out and held his hand over Zuko’s face. The touch at first felt inviting, pleasantly warm and gentle. But soon that feeling turned into a prickling sensation, kind of like the pins and needles he gets when he stays in one position too long. The feeling intensified, spreading from over his eye outwards to his ear. It felt like he was being stabbed with a fork over and over again. As the flame being held to his face got hotter, Zuko screamed in pain. He could feel the skin go from warm and flushed, to blistering pain. He could feel the skin surrounding the outer edge of his father’s hand begin to melt, and he choked from the smell of it.
A deeper look at how exactly that fateful day went.

Summary
After being banished, all Zuko wants is to return to the Fire Nation and make his father proud.
This is alarming for many reasons, not the least being that Zuko is the dragon of prophecy every fire bender in the world is searching for.
Iroh's goal is simple: keep Zuko safe no matter the cost, and keep him far, far from Ozai.

Summary
Centuries ago, the Royal bloodline of the Fire Nation was blessed by the great spirit Agni, allowing the family's descendants to harness the powers of dragons.
However, during Firelord Sozin's rule, everything changed. Dragons were hunted down for sport, and the Royal Family had to keep their abilities secret. Because of this secrecy, the ancient ritual that allowed these descendants to fully transform was buried and forgotten. Only the Fire Sages and most dedicated servants of the Royal Palace knew of the family's dragon-like abilities and characteristics, but none remembered why Sozin, of all Firelords, had ordered that the dragons be killed. Maybe he went insane? Or something more sinister had happened?
Struggling to control what little power he has, a scarred Banished Prince travels the world in desperation to find the Avatar and return back to his homeland.
And yet, Prince Zuko will find that his journey will not be an easy one as he, with the help of his Uncle Iroh, hides his abilities from the world.
Agni's blessing had become a curse.

Summary
There was a child on the Wani. No, not that one.
Iroh recalled the image his nephew made in front of him. Calmer by far, happier, more at peace than he’s been for a long time, if ever. His robes; splendid, fine and well fitted. His hair was long, cared for and pulled back in a formal topknot. He doesn’t know if this is a spirit vision –and if it is, if it’ll be like his last one– but if what he sees is any indication of what the future has in store, then Iroh knows that all will be well. -

Summary
Zuko remembered the wind rushing between his fingers. No. That was impossible. He couldn't airbend—he was a firebender! Perhaps, perhaps—he had only heated the air, so that it just seemed like he had airbent.
But Zuko couldn't deny that feeling that had surfaced then...one of weightlessness...and of freedom.
He was an airbender.
But he was also a firebender.
So that meant... he was the Avat—
No. The Avatar was alive, an old man now, hidden within the walls of Ba Sing Se, the city's protector.
Unless he died, a voice hissed, like a dragon luring him to its den. Unless Avatar Huan died long ago.
Deep within the Southern Air Temple, Zuko unearths a long-buried secret: he can airbend. He is now at a crossroads. He can turn himself in to his father, securing victory for the Fire Nation—or face his destiny as the Avatar. But how can he learn all four elements when the Air Nomads are extinct?

Summary
The Royal Family's bloodline was blessed many generations ago by the Great Agni, allowed to take the forms of dragons, the original firebenders, for short periods of time.
However, during Sozin's rule, dragons were hunted down, the Royals with the Gift did not change anymore, and none could remember the sacred ritual to allow for them to fully transform into dragons. No one could even remember that anyone of the Royal Family could even turn into dragons except for the Fire Sages and a few select servants in the palace.
Zuko was a late bloomer, both with his firebending and his dragon-like features, not showing horns until he was almost seven. Meanwhile, Azula was always early, showing both fangs and claws when she was only four and a few months old. Ozai, of course, was disappointed in him.
Zuko struggles with controlling what little power he has, his emotions always getting the better of him as he desperately searches for the Avatar, trying to capture him and return home.
Outside the palace, he must keep it secret, but his anger seems to control him more and more each passing day, eventually threatening to take his humanity.
Agni's blessing has become a curse.
