Summary
Pierro visits Dottore to congratulate him on his successful mission. It's been some time since he last spoke to his Second face to face in a private setting, without prying eyes and judgemental looks. Yet, his Doctor seems distant, his boisterous attitude gone, replaced by a gloomy bitterness directed towards the Jester.
Maybe he shouldn‘t have declined so many invitations from his lover. Because someday, they simply stopped and Pierro found himself too occupied to care. It dawned upon him just now, ten years later, that Dottore may have understood his behaviour as rejection.

But then Pierro had come along and liberated him from the hot sands of the desert. He was aware of the claims that dogged Dottore's footsteps and didn't flinch away in disgust. He took Dottore on as a partner, an equal. He gave Dottore all the resources he could possibly want. He praised Dottore. Pierro never smiled, and his approach to even kind gestures was impenetrably cold, but he would still say-
“You did well, Dottore.”
When Dottore returned from a successful mission and Dottore’s face would grow hot beneath his mask.
Dottore has it bad for Pierro.
