Summary
Magic was slowly dying. The elven people known as Zariyans were not being born with magic abilities. Many elders believed this to be because of the war machines the humans had created long ago. For centuries they had scavenged the lands, creating more machines. Before princess Ochako was born, it was prophized by the elders that she would be the one to return the magic to her people.
As she grew up this destiny was hanging over her head always. The spunky princess tried to feel some control of her life; sneaking off, exploring the city. The weight though was always there. A few days before her two and twentieth name day, Ochako's parents had something to discuss with her about a letter. Little did she know that letter would be the catalyst to everything.

The dim hallway was quiet, save for the faint sound of chattering from a nearby apartment. Iida Tenya balanced a bag of groceries in one arm, unlocking his door with the other, when a child’s shriek of laughter echoed down the hall. He turned, instinctively straightening his posture as his eyes landed on the young girl sprinting around the corner, her small figure almost crashing into him.
“Whoa, careful there,” he said, surprised, catching her by the shoulders before she could topple over. The girl looked up, blinking in surprise, and Iida was struck by her wide, bright eyes - curious and vibrant, with a spark of familiarity he couldn't quite place.
