When the mortals cried and prayed for immortality, ever so wanting to continue to live in this beautiful world that their creators made, they frowned. Oh, how their cries ached their souls. Slipping past Qlipoth — Assigned to watch the Ambrosial arbor arboretum — They managed to sneak one small seed before escaping from Qlipoth’s defenses. Who would’ve known that such a small seed and a selfless deed would result in this.

A mysterious disease spread upon its wake, devastating the remaining survivors of humanity and plunging them further into despair. As time for the Previous Era began to run out, none has managed to figure out its true nature.
But before the last remnants of humanity went into its deep slumber, before the Pioneers carried out their mission to guide the new era, Dr. Mei has made a breakthrough.
The Black Sun is not created by the Finality and follows a different path than the Honkai.
At present, Kageyama Eri arrives in Nagazora to continue her studies, blissfully unaware of the darkness casting a shadow over her being.

Summary
After learning the truth of his past, Caelus has to work through what that means for his future. It's not easy, finding out your past identity in one of the weirdest ways possible.
Adding onto his troubles, is the new arrival of distant figures from the stars. Drawn in by a desire to reconnect with a lost friend, the Aeons find every opportunity to interrupt Caelus's life, testing his already strained mind to its limits.
The present is not much better, as the Nameless grow increasingly concerned for their youngest companion's well-being. The further he sinks into his own self, the further they push to find the answer to why.
With everything fighting for his attention at once, Caelus struggles to truly balance all the different facets of himself, and tries to find solace in the only remnants of the past he has left- his dreams.
