Summary
His heart had been broken a lot, he’d been left a lot, he’d gotten used to it, come to expect it even. But if there was one person in the world he thought would never leave him, it would be Eddie. But then again, sometimes the people you think you know best in the world, the ones you trust your life with are the ones that betray you the worst. The ones you never expect, they sneak up on you and break you into a million pieces and leave without a second thought.
He knew why Eddie was doing it. Why he was leaving LA. Why he was leaving Buck. It didn’t make it any easier. If anything it made it harder. It just reinforced the idea that he was always the one to get left, he was always the outsider, the first one to be discarded, never important enough to stop people from leaving and never coming back. He was Buck. And a lot of times, he wasn’t enough. No matter how much he tried.

Summary
“It’s not what it looks like.”
And oh does Eddie hate himself at this particular moment in time, because the look on Buck’s face tells him that not a word he’s just said is believable.
“So, you’re not reading Hotshots fanfiction about Jones railing Sanchez in explicit detail in the middle of your kitchen in broad daylight?” Buck asks, looking highly amused. “Because that’s exactly what this looks like.”
Yes.
Well.
“That’s—that’s just—” Eddie stumbles over his words, before collecting himself. “You can’t possibly know that just from a two second look at the screen.”

Buck’s on his phone now, too. “Other me is… British?” he says, but it doesn’t sound right even as a question. He keeps scrolling. “And vegan? What am I supposed to even eat?”
“Calm down, Buck, you don’t have to actually be the other you.”
Chimney frowns, tilting his head, “It seems like Eddie’s the other him, though.”
Eddie parses through a Wikipedia page titled Ryan Guzman and oh, Chim really wasn’t exaggerating. “Well, I’m still half Mexican and half Swedish,” A deep crease appears between his brows as he continues, “still went to Catholic school, born in Texas, played baseball… what the hell?”

History is repeating. Buck is considering calling Tommy after their break-up only this time Eddie isn’t going to be the one to convince him to do so. No, this time, Eddie is going to stop him. Because, this time, Eddie is allowing himself to go for joy.

Summary
After spending months at his boyfriend Evan "Buck" Buckley's apartment recovering from his helicopter crash and fallen tree injuries, Tommy Kinard has recovered enough to go back to work.
EXCERPT:
“‘You Didn’t Die!’ That’s the banner you went with?” snorted Tommy, not sure what he was expecting.
But.
It wasn’t as if he was surprised by the choice.
“What? You’re chuckling. You just snorted! I knew you’d like it,” said Lucy, grinning as she handed Tommy a slice of a cake shaped like a fallen down tree.
It was a honey cake with dark chocolate rings of buttercream and icing that looked like tree bark and leaves. It did look strikingly like the tree that had fallen on Tommy and Tommy wondered how they got that just right.
And.
Okay.
Yes, Tommy was chuckling.
“Yeah. I like this whole party,” said Tommy, because he liked gallows humor.
“Your boyfriend suggested the cake place. They do a lot of specialty cakes. I mean. Dicks mostly, I assume, but also cakes shaped like other things, as you can see by the tree,” said Melton, “Your boyfriend actually helped with a lot of the coordination of this welcome back party. He’s kind of scary.”

Summary
When he gets in his Jeep, he deliberates for half a second before driving to Eddie’s house instead of the loft. He can’t explain it, he just has an urge to — see Eddie. Maybe he should mention that he told Maddie about the will. Except — Buck didn’t need permission to do that. In fact, Maddie probably should know. In case … he doesn’t even know. In case something bad happens to Buck or Eddie, or Buck and Eddie? In case Buck and Eddie both get hit in the head with an unstable beam at a structure fire one of these days, and Buck gets amnesia and doesn’t remember he needs to look after Chris, or maybe even who Chris is, and someone needs to remind him because that same beam kills Eddie, and —
Nope. He’s spiraling. It doesn’t make a lot of sense, any of it. But especially not this hypothetical that Buck’s brain just cooked up for him.
Anyway. It’s fine that Buck told Maddie about the will. She didn’t even think it was weird!
----Buck is surprised (disappointed) that no one else thinks the will thing is a big deal. He spends the summer thinking (spiralling) about it.

Summary
“I’ll go to the party with you.”
That was actually the last thing Buck had been expecting. If the look Hen and Chim share is anything to go by they weren’t either.
“It’s at a gay bar,” Buck blurts out before he can think better of it—think of a gentler way to explain that this might not be Eddie’s scene.
Eddie doesn’t seem the least bit phased, “Okay.”
It’s said in a way that makes Buck feel like he’s missing something here.
“Okay,” he repeats dumbly.
Because now that it’s an option he can’t stop thinking about it. A re-do of the bachelor party, dressed-up, drunk, and having fun with his favorite person. Maybe he should thank Tommy, actually?
or,
Tommy bails on Buck's Halloween plans, Eddie offers to take his place in the couples costume contest, and Buck goes home with a grand prize.
