Glamorous as it is on the outside, it’s little more than nine months of the year trapped in a bus whose walls still hold the rancid stench of the ghosts of gas station burritos past, sore backs from stiff cots, and an endless rotation of venues, festivals, and exhausted appearances on television. Nights are often filled with dreams of going home, that sweet respite between recording and relishing in the adoration of the crowd something held sacred in their eyes, and little else to look forward to.
But at least, for a night, they get to have you.

After a mass shooting in Johnny Joestar's youth led him to being partially paralyzed and effectively ended his dreams of becoming a jockey, his experiences in physical therapy inspired him to pursue a new career path: a place in the Speedwagon Foundation's mysterious Task Force, a subdivision of the Supernatural Research Department that deals with the apprehension and legal prosecution of renegade Stand users.
A decade later, at the age of twenty-nine, Johnny is starting his first day at the Task Force's Los Angeles office. Some of his biggest hurdles in life lie ahead: an old nemesis turned coworker, a meddling grandfather whose place on the Speedwagon Foundation's Board of Directors has saddled him with a reputation of being a "nepo baby", his no-nonsense cousin serving as his boss, a slight crush on his former physical therapist that he refuses to come to terms with, a government conspiracy, a mangaka from Morioh who continues to get himself arrested to "understand the mind of a criminal", dinosaurs, admin assistants, and the literal Body of Christ.
