A smile broke across his face, and he playfully nudged a cog towards Viktor. The brass piece glided through the air with an almost liquid grace, rippling as though carried by invisible currents. Viktor caught it deftly, his thin lips curving into a smile as he let out a low chuckle. They floated together in the strange levity of their experiment, untethered from the usual constraints of gravity, as though the room itself had been transformed into a sanctuary of wonder.

It had taken a while (at least for Viktor to acknowledge this feeling) before he stopped expecting the man to disappear, before he started expecting Jayce to come find him in his breaks between classes. The semester had ended, as did their shared class, and yet, here they were, sitting at the dining hall and eating lunch together. It was…nice.
