“Isha!” Heinrix pleaded.
“Have deepened our working relationship since the Magnae Accessio, and we explore the depths of our shared affection,” her lips curled into a roguish smile, “repeatedly, thoroughly and to the satisfaction of all parties involved. I hope this statement corrects any misunderstandings in the minds of those gathered.”
“It shreds the last remnants of hope of those not enthused by the thought of the Lord Captain fraternising with the Inquisition,” Abelard griped.
“Fraternising?” She raised an eyebrow. “Field testing the sturdiness of the Lord Captain’s furniture would describe it more correctly.” She winked at Heinrix, whose tight grimace unwound into a sly grin. “Let that be the last word wasted on the issue.”" -

Summary
Runa von Valancius is the latest Lord Captain at the end of a long line of Rogue Traders, unceremoniously thrust into the impossible responsibility of leading the infamous von Valancius dynasty. The former leader of a gang of outlaw smugglers, the friendly, affable voidborn woman tries her hardest to leave behind the scars of a very turbulent past as she presses forward into her new life, learning to balance the horrors alongside the endless bureaucracy of her new responsibilities. Just as she starts to believe that she's making progress, she's abducted and almost dies in the pits of Commorragh, finding unexpected solace in the arms of her Interrogator - who is fighting his own struggle between his enormous, immutable duty to the Golden Throne, and his emergent affections for Runa.
Cue obligations of duty, moral dilemmas, PTSD nightmares, banter, and sex.
Post-Commorragh, sometimes canon, mostly not. Inspired by the spectacular writing of this excellent game.

Summary

And yet she doesn't seem to take the threat seriously. To Heinrix's surprise, Lord Captain even releases the man he suspects of treasonous deeds. But that's not the only surprise he's about to witness because Vera never tires of teasing the Interrogator.

The tension builds up slowly as the Interrogator and the Rogue Trader each maneuver cautiously. Their interactions are delicate dances of probing, as trust is scarce in this treacherous and unforgiving world.--Chapter 11: Under the Eclipse--

The astropath, pale and shaken, bows once more before turning sharply on his heel and retreating with a speed unbecoming of his frail form. The observatory servo-skull, which had been silently overseeing their exchange, emits a short clicking sound before sliding away after him.
Heinrix had ordered the ship’s choir to handle all messages for him with the utmost discretion. But the regular communication between Xavier and his acolytes are encrypted with their unique cipher, requiring no additional confidentiality measures. This means the case he holds contains uncoded documents.
The mind-scrubbing is unexpected, though not surprising. Such extremes are inevitable when the Inquisition’s shadow falls upon a vessel, for the only alternative guarantee of silence is death.Series

Expect a lot of Heinrix/Venria interaction and long dialogue between them as this is a dialog-heavy story with a focus on Venria and her developing relationship with Heinrix van Calox.
