Soyo and her new administration must reckon with those with their own plans of Japan's future and a world that she was isolated from all her life, especially the young Queen and King of a hermit Kingdom.
Meanwhile, Katsura and Ikumatsu must reckon with their growing relationship - and a long-lost friend of Katsura.
Gintoki and Tsukuyo must also acknowledge the past - Gintoki the loss of his best friend and Tsukuyo a shadowy guilt from her past.
How the hell will this come together into one story? Well, as a main dish with a side of ramen. and soba.

Why does it feel oddly familiar? Why are the gorilla, the sadist, and Hijikata all sitting on one side of the chabudai—and why is Jimmy going over there to join them?! Now it’s four against one! The odds are stacked against him even before they’ve begun whatever it is that they’re about to begin!
Or: the Shinsengumi collectively give Gintoki their blessing to date their vice chief in typical Gintama fashion, and Gintoki learns the hard way that dating someone means also dating their whole damn family.
