To be completely honest, Florian did not expect the field trip to Kitakami at all.
He didn't expect the timing, only a few weeks from the end of the Treasure Hunt, or the location, halfway across the world.
He didn't expect the legendary ogre he befriended.
Most of all, he didn't expect Carmine and Kieran. Not in the slightest.
Though to be fair,
It's not like they expected him either.
Or the Kitakami siblings have a secret, but it’s not like Florian is allowed to complain. He has plenty more.

Kitakami is not known for much, if at all. It lies quietly between mountains and forests away from most other settlements, making it fairly isolated from anyone outside itself. In fact, it's become nearly impossible to find, unless you know how to look for it.
One such traveler somehow did–and whether he knows it or not, his presence will soon change everything the people of Kitakami knew.
But Kieran wants to help the traveler. Deep down, he knows something is amiss and wants to understand him. Kieran'll do whatever it takes, even if it means he has to challenge his own beliefs, too.
