This is the last part in a three-part series!
After the death of Dumbledore, the wizarding world feels like it's in shambles, but beneath the surface, the light is moving forward, gathering up their weapons and people preparing for the big battle. Merlin gathers his old friends together to search for Death’s EarthBound items.
While Harry is hunting for Horcruxes, new friends will be found and old ones remembered. It's a battle against who becomes stronger before the final battle commences. Will it be Morgana and Voldemort, or will it be Merlin and Harry Potter? Only time will tell…

‘What is the name of you grandfather?’ Sophie asked, not too unkindly in the face of the suspicion entering the boy’s blue eyes.
‘Why do you ask?’ He countered stiffly as Merlin, who she now thought was officially the Prince’s servant of advisor or some such thing, returned with a bunch of firewood.
‘I think I know how I got here and I’d like to confirm my theory,’ she said gloomily.
‘I am Sophie, and my husband is Howl. Howl Jenkins Pendragon. I know for a fact that there is no one else by the name of Pendragon where I come from. That’s probably because he made that name up. He said it’s a lovely name, which it is, I guess, though I prefer more plain ones, but anyway.’
She was getting distracted.
‘The point is. I don’t know how it happened, but I think I’m in the future. I hope he didn’t leave me to really get married to the King’s daughter, but one can’t ever be sure with Howl, so tell me the name of your bloody grandfather, because I have a wizard to kill if I hear the name Howl among the list of you ancestors.’Sophie travels forward in time to when her great great grandson is on the throne. (Hint-he’s our favourite genocidal git)

"Now that Gwaine was looking at him he looked tired. Scratch that he looked exhausted. Pale and smaller than the last time Gwaine had seen him. He had dark circles bruising under his eyes and the eyes themselves looked much older.
"What do you need his help with anyway?"
Arthur looked behind him to Leon. Obviously debilitating how much he was willing to give away. When he turned back around, his weary eyes locking with Gwaine, He replied, "Camelot's in trouble.""i.e. After being banished from Camelot for his magic, Merlin spends the year staying with Gwaine. Their happily ever after abruptly comes to an end when Arthur shows back up asking for help.

“It’s snowing.” Merlin's voice is just above a whisper, eyes sparkling and hands gripping the window sill, the cold walls tug at his threads of magic. Merlin presses his face against the glass, eyes watching closely as the snow dances in the air through the window panes.
“It’s cold Merlin.” King’s do not whine, but Arthur does. “Come back to bed, we’ll sleep the day away.”
Merlin shakes his head and turns to face his husband, tilting his head to the side and surveying his King’s sleep rustled hair. “Come on love, up.”
He waves his hand, and the quilt pulls back and attaches itself to the bottom of the bed.
“I’ll have you flogged.” It is an empty threat.
Merlin shakes his head and crosses to the wardrobe, “No you won’t.”
Arthur sighs, “No I won’t.” It’s softly spoken. He stands and pulls the blanket around his shoulders to act like a cloak.

As the stars begin to twinkle in the velvety night sky, Merlin allows the darkness to swallow him whole. He blows out the candle beside him, its flickering flame extinguished, casting the room into shadows. With a sigh of contentment, he lays his head down on his pillow, nestled next to Pip, who is cozily wrapped in a blanket; with a small piece of red fabric tied around the bird's little neck.

Of all the ways Arthur and the knights could've found out about his magic, Merlin hadn't thought it'd be due to a sparrow. There will be a happy ending, but it's gonna take a while.
"Arthur was terrified when he saw Merlin make up his mind to jump. He put on a burst of speed, willing his body to give everything he had so he could just-reach out and….He crashed at full speed into the warlock, knocking them both out of breath, but most importantly, far away from the edge of the ravine. Merlin fought him, kicking and clawing for escape, but it was clear that whatever had fueled him for so long was gone, and eventually the kicking and punching and shouting was gone, and Merlin wept in Arthur’s arms, trembling hard.
“Sorry, so sorry, so so sorry. ‘M so sorry, Arthur,” he sobbed desperately, and Arthur held him close, heart racing and eyes wet. “I’m so sorry, please don’t burn me. I’m so sorry. I didn’ mean to, I was born with it.” Merlin cried, and Arthur shushed him gently."
