Summary
Set shortly after Jafar's coup in Agrabah.
In a bid to win Jasmine over, Jafar follows some unsolicited advice from the Genie. He sets her free, but not without first kissing her and vowing that she will return to him of her own volition.
Jasmine is determined to ignore the desire that Jafar's kiss ignites within her. She is determined to take her kingdom back, or failing that, carve out a respectable life for herself outside of Jafar's direct influence.
She soon discovers, however, that running from her past is nearly impossible. Especially when, much to her dismay, she witnesses first hand how Agrabah prospers under Jafar's reign.
Will Jasmine be able to forgive Jafar's unspeakable past actions in order to build a brighter future for herself and Agrabah? Or will Jafar drive her away once and for all?

“What’s it to you? Thanks for the help but I’m fine now.” He made as if to leave, Jafar stopped him with a hand to the chest.
In truth, Jafar didn’t know why was so intent on keeping this scruffy, obstinate man around. There was certainly some appeal to the classic roman profile, but it was topped with an unfortunate haircut and covered in ill-fitting clothes. And yet he was determined to learn more.
“I could use some information, and it seems like you might have it. Come, let’s discuss it over a drink somewhere private.” With a gentle tug to the man’s arm, he gestured them off into the streets.
There was a moment’s hesitation, then the man started walking. “Cesare. My name’s Cesare,” He mumbled, self-consciously rubbing his arms.
“Lovely. I’m Jafar. Hopefully we can help each other out.”

Jafar doesn't know why he is so attracted to the small-time dealer he saved from a beating (and worse), but somehow he just wants to make sure Cesare is okay. -

Summary
Jafar discovers an addendum to Agrabah's Marriage laws, one that will force Jasmine to marry him on her twenty-first birthday. In a bid for the throne, he presents this to the Sultan.
Sultan Hamed, however, already has a plan in motion, one he refuses to share with Jafar.
When Jasmine discovers Jafar's schemes, she is determined to escape him. When fleeing to the streets of Agrabah, she meets a street rat, and her heart is immediately ensnared. Fate, however, intervenes.
Jasmine is forced to return to the palace, and to the man that is trying to trap her into marriage.
There are enemies and secrets that are hidden from the princess, and when the truth comes out, Jasmine must turn to Jafar for help.
Jafar is more than willing to assist, provided that Jasmine agrees to be his queen when the time comes.
