Gricko notices things. He notices a lot of things. Despite his loud and generally playful demeanor, the goblin is actually quite perceptive and insightful—he has to be, considering that he used to be the beast master in his old clan, and beasts can’t exactly talk without the use of magic. So he has to keep body language in mind when handling beasts, and as luck would have it, this rule also applies to his friends.

Only the last chapter is a poem, but I though this was fun. Growth/recovery/life is never linear. The demons you long buried can rear their terrible heads when you least expect it. Just some scenarios where the Crew puts some of the BS haunting them to bed with the help of their faithful friends.

AKA: Gricko is a druid. Druids are pretty well aware of nature and natural cycles. Heats and Ruts are natural cycles. Gricko doesn't know why Torbek hasn't mentioned anything, but as time ticks by and his heat approaches, the goblin decides to take matters into his own hands.
Gently, of course.
He's not the best at subtlety, but he'll do his best. His friend deserves that much.

Even though the outbreak started small and spread slowly, it didn't take long for the whole country (and maybe even the whole world) to fall into chaos. With infected finally making their way down south and their little slice of heaven destroyed by a (now defunct) gang, Kremy and Gideon Coal-Lecroux's best option is to pack up and head north. The infected are mostly gone there after all, and they highly doubt the survivors will be any more hostile than what they're used to.
A wannabe cure researcher with a sniper rifle, an ex-veterinarian nature lover with a chainsaw, and the most feral twelve year old to ever walk the earth just might show them there’s still good in humanity.
Also, Torbek was there.
