Becky Botsford is 13, just shy of 14, when she finally slips up. It was just another ordinary day during the fall of 7th grade when he had confronted her. She was swapping out the books in her locker before lunch ended when Tobey had marched up to her, leaning on the locker beside her, raising an eyebrow at the slightly shorter girl. Without giving her the chance to utter a word, he pulled out a familiar book, making Becky pale.

Lucky for her, she gets a new power on her 14th birthday. Now she has to try and balance a life of justice and crime, with no one but Bob and Rex to aid her with her troubles.

WordGirl hated what she became. When she'd joined Miss Power, she didn't think she would lose everything. But, she did. Her friends. Her family. All of it. Gone. She wrought destruction and chaos for Miss Power, got manipulated by her because she took advantage of her at her lowest. At the age of eighteen, she was summoned into a meeting and met the captured - now resistance fighter - Theodore McCallister the Third who grew so much, physically and mentally speaking. It wasn't long before she began wanting him in every way.
On the other hand, WordGirl hurting his feelings left an impact on Tobey. Realizing what she had become and how far she'd fallen, Tobey is left fighting his feelings and desires, all the while hoping to bring the girl he'd loved back. He is also left with the threat of his own soul. More and more, it gets harder to control himself, building up to the point of possibly no return.
This eventually led them down on conflicting feelings of both side.
