Right now her current choice was fine. Really it was fine. Her girlfriend was fine. Everything was fine.
Boring but fine.
She hated that she found Avery so boring but she was. She was a very nice, kind, loving woman.
She remembered all of Lydia’s favorite things like her favorite flowers or candy. She would even randomly bring her both after a rehearsal.
But Lydia missed the passion she had once felt, the passion she ended after a momentary lapse of her sanity.

Cynthia Zdunowski went to college for an English degree under the impression that it was an easy major. It wasn't. Furthermore, having to participate in the fall play as part of her Shakespeare class was about as far from easy as she could possibly get. Especially after having to audition alongside Lydia, the star of the theatre program.
Listen, I was a theatre arts major, I have no idea how English programs work. But this seemed plausible, so just go with it.
