(Written to celebrate Herta's true form being revealed to the world.)
"I ... I don't understand. I one of the smartest beings in the universe yet I don't understand! ... why is it that you can push my buttons and I refuse to do something about it?!"
Herta was never really the type to fixate her attention on things she didn't find to be amusing. The 83rd member of the Genius Society and one of two Emanators of Nous very rarely kept an interest in a lot of things, people included (despite the few she can call acquaintances), and this made her mostly isolate herself, to the point she never fathomed that she'd make a prison of loneliness around her.
A prison that not even someone of her genius can free herself from.
She'd never admit it ... but ... she was scared that this would be a permanent reality for her.
But then Nous' gaze reached a new member. He was so much like Herta herself and yet so much more, and this would start to a form a feeling went beyond just and simple "interest" as he who would end up being a challenge to her Hypothesis of herself.

Her veins coil around, eerily similar to vines, and it feels as though there is something yearning to burst under the alabaster hue of her skin. That, if they truly were vines, there would be flowers coming off of them, accompanied with a blood lust that she can never quite explain whenever Yingxing looks at her questioningly. Words fall from Dan Feng’s lips, and she can never make out the muffled syllables until she looks away from Baiheng and blinks at the world slowly and it comes to a stop. Abrupt and fleeting like the blooming chrysanthemums all around.
Golden and wonderous whilst Baiheng smiles like there is nothing wrong at all. And Jingliu lead’s them, the quintet, like she has not been knocked off course and kilter, Dan Feng and Yingxing looking to one another conspiratorially and communicating in a way only they know.
And in the deepest crevices of Jingliu’s heart, there grows a flower.
For Baiheng alone, she is sure. She has to be as the leader and all knowledgeable in the manner and way that she is, surveying Jing Yuan and his training.
