Desmond and Alex had sex a few times, just for kicks, nothing serious. They had no idea Alex could get pregnant.

Also, no sappy shit. Alex is pissed that he's knocked up and hates Des for it and refuses to lie down and rest and he can get away with it. Alex having to consume lots and lots of people because the spawn is sapping his strength would be cool."
Doesn't quite exaaactly follow the prompt, as there is a little sappiness/romance developing later.
