“I… I’m gonna be honest with you, Emilia-tan.” Subaru’s voice trembled, barely louder than the chill breeze of the night. The moonlight bathed Emilia in a soft glow, making her look almost ethereal.
Drawing a deep breath, Subaru forced herself to meet those violet eyes. “I still don’t… really care about this country’s politics. And I don’t even want to be a king, honestly.”
Emilia’s gaze softened, but a slight disappointment flickered in her expression. “…I see,” she murmured, her voice steady but tinged with sadness. “That’s… unfortunate.”
“Yeah, it is.” Subaru let out a resigned laugh, her lips curling into a faint, wry smile. She hesitated for a moment before stepping closer, her hand trembling as it found Emilia’s.
“But… I don’t want things to stay this way. I can’t get my happy ending if this world stays the same.”
Emilia blinked, her lips parting as if to speak, but no words came out. Her hand trembled slightly in Subaru’s grasp.
“You, Beako, Rem and everyone else—you all make me want to try.” Subaru murmured; her voice soft but resolute.
“To try for a better future.”TLDR - Female Subaru is the king candidate instead of Emilia, and Emilia is her knight.

Think it over, will you? Don’t worry, I promise not to be too depressed if you reject me-”
“No, there’s no need for that, Dame Natsumi.” He cuts in before he can hear another word. He really can’t stand that self-deprecating smile on her face. “I was just… shocked. Are you sure about this?”
“Of course, do you really need me to say it again?” She questions, “I love you, Reinhard.”

After returning to the Capital for the beginning of the royal selection, she is surprised when the Sword Saint, Reinhard van Astrea, frantically asks her to touch an insignia identical to her friend’s before basically kidnapping her. She had intended to wait outside for Emilia, but she guessed it must have been important if the Sword Saint of all people needed to take her.
(Felt wasn’t discovered as the fifth candidate in Arc 1, and female Subaru replaces her in Arc 3.)

Girls messed with her, boys detested her, and most of all, she unintentionally got into fights with... dogs. Nothing, just happened to anger the dogs by her existence alone, then they chased after or try to bite her. And what did she do? Run for her life, obviously!
One day, she was tricked into buying a horrible otome game by another female classmate. Well, what? The little wench pretended to cry, asking Subaru for help due to her "moneyless" situation. Even though Subaru knew that this little pig won't give her the money back, but oh well, better safe than sorry.
