First, really, if his increasingly strained and frustrated self-restraint only had to last until Fei Sheng Zhe’s twentieth birthday, surely he should have thought to inform himself when that actually was? A glance at the clock: he’s missed eleven whole hours where he could have been kissing Fei Sheng Zhe.
And that leads on to his second question: by imposing such an arbitrary rule (to prove his commitment, really, like Yi Jie has not already started thinking about how soon he can put a ring on his boyfriend, how soon Yo Yo might start calling her Xiao Fei Gege ‘Daddy’ as well), did Juan Jie not realize that she was simply denying herself the chance to see her only son on his important birthday? Really, she should have picked some other arbitrary, unimportant date – there was no way he was letting Sheng Zhe leave their home at all the rest of the day.
