He moves to get off Jing Yuan with a wounded heart, an apology on the tip of his tongue when Jing Yuan grabs his wrist and pulls him back down. He has to slam his palms onto the floor on either side of Jing Yuan's head so he doesn't crash face first into him.
"Dan Heng," Jing Yuan smiles at him, warm and gold, gold, gold, "I love you too."
What? "What?"
Jing Yuan chuckles at his bewildered expression, and Dan Heng has to fight down the blush that threatens to overtake his face at the melodious sound. He gathers up his best glare and directs it at the man beneath him.
"Sorry, sorry." Jing Yuan says, still chuckling, "but are you sure you want an old man like me?"
What type of question is that? Does Jing Yuan not know that he is a catch? Thousands would be happy to have him as their spouse.
Oblivious to Dan Heng's inner thoughts, Jing Yuan continues, no longer chuckling. "I would not want to tie you down, Dan Heng."
