有明确的非虚构元素的作品应该是严肃的，尤其是在这些作品有阅读量的前提下。应该尊重真实的经验，或理论基础。而《辉夜之城》原作（及其外篇《计划之外》）就是在将一些本该被严肃对待的东西，以一种侮辱了其题材、亦凭借扭曲真实的煤气灯效应情感剥削与操纵了其读者的方式，商品化。
谨以本作纪念一些真实地反叛与反抗过反乌托邦的人。

It is an occurrence in the lives of all adolescents for one to obtain emotional complexity as they age. Schroeder was no different. As a child, he was defined by his musical talent alone. His character had not been given the chance to develop past that. It was only throughout the transition to his early teenage years when he became a fully-fledged individual with substance and rationale, childhood frustration growing into something more.

In the dark of that night, the line that divides them gets ignored. Etho's fingers grave over the scarring, and he sighs, maybe if Bdubs was braver, he’d ask why Etho was sighing, but Bdubs is a coward. So, instead, he assumes it’s just some sort of acknowledgment of the ethereal markings left by a cruel god. Letters of a dead language, beyond their understanding, are etched into Bdubs' back.
Luckily, the time he spends as red is short, Tango gives him a life, and then Bdubs kills him. Boogeyman curse, what can he say.
The third time Bdubs goes red, he feels it. Like the curse has sunk it’s ugly teeth into his jugular like it’s ripping him apart all over again, he seethes. He thirsts for blood, he longs for Etho’s welcoming embrace.
