So when he received a text from Carisi asking to meet for coffee, it felt safe to assume it would be to catch up, reminisce on old times, not to ask-
“I would like to take you out on a date and spend the night with you, if you’re interested.” Carisi repeated again, calmly. Barba sized him with his gaze, noticing how much of a lawyer the man in front of him had truly grown to be. No longer was the awkward, overbearingly green detective that Barba, hesitantly, fondly remembered. Now sat a suit able to speak so matter of factly about manslaughter plea deals or sexual propositions for your ex-colleague/former mentor/rival in court.
“Correct me if I’m mistaken, Carisi, but did you and Rollins not get married last month?”

Distracted by the dash to the Vault, no one paid much mind to the scheduled games still running inside their heads alongside their thoughts, occasionally greeted by the lack of a game entirely because there was no other team present to play against.
