Long story short, after Ego blackmailed him to put on a VR headset, he became the villain of a popular romance game he'd finished playing during the break to vent his stress. Even if it were a game, he still didn't want to die in the game. With a bad reputation and unpopularity, he was going to lay low and try not to die. Unfortunately, fate (or maybe Ego's interference) did not want him left alone.
With the heroine's love interest popping up from left to right (which for some reason were his friends???), Isagi's heart (and his virgin ass) was in a lot of trouble. -
