Leon knows it better than everyone: knows about the things Connor’s said in interviews, but he also knows about the whispered doubts from Connor’s first season as a captain, knows all too well his breakdowns he never lets anyone but Leon see. Leon knows Connor, knows him as well as he knows himself, and he knows all those things Connor’s whispered to him when he thought Leon was asleep, and he knows how Connor burdens himself with every loss, everything the media says about him. He knows Connor carries it all and doesn’t ask for help with the load, because he thinks he’s strong enough to carry it. He thinks the captain title means that he can’t ask for help with it.
