Summary
An AU based on the American and French Revolutions and a late 18th Century aesthetic. FemHawke/Anders is the main ship, but all listed ones are important.
When Ferelden won its independence, rebuilding took an unexpected turn. Maric truly didn’t want to be king, so he urged the people to vote for General Loghain Mac Tir to lead a Republic. Now, as Ferelden faces a Blight, most of Thedas expects its radical experiment to fail against that threat. Ferelden faces attacks from both the outside and, unfortunately, the inside.
Meanwhile, in Kirkwall, nobles and the Chantry still oppress the people. But a group of would-be rebels have taken inspiration from Ferelden. They include a physician/apothecary who writes radical pamphlets and is secretly a mage, a fierce elven scholar trying to raise the Alienage, the son of a viscount killed by the Templars, and others. Maric, his elven wife, and their son travel there to help.
The three Hawke siblings join the fight, finding purpose, friendship, and love. But it soon becomes clear that the Revolution faces profound challenges....

Summary
The dwarf Varric has been teaching at Haven High for the past few years. Last school year was a disaster, but this year promises to be better with a new Principal and new staff replacing Meredith and Orsino. He was expecting new collogues. He was not expecting one of them to be the human woman he'd loved more than anyone else, his ex high school sweetheart, Cassandra Pentaghast.
Cassandra had left her high school love behind to join the military 17 years ago. When she got out she went to university to become a teacher and start a life as civilian. Picking up right where we left off in He Can Be Strong For Someone Else - Act 2.
Kirkwall is as hard to stomach as ever even though things have calmed down some.
All Cullen can do is the best he can. Try to uphold his duty and his conscience and straddle the gap between the two.
The thing is...lines are beginning to blur. All kinds of lines, not just between mages and templars or demons and magic.
He's still possessed, he still has nightmares, he still can't sleep. But maybe he's learning from all of this.Once again I state that I am being very fast and loose with the timeline here, so things can move and shift a bit to match up with the course of events for the story. Nothing is concrete except the scenes that have been detailed and if I come up with more scenes to add, they’ll come as new posts outside of each Act. I have thought of a few already.

It is Dragon 9:37, and war has begun. For two years the mage Viscountess of Kirkwall, Caitlyn Hawke, fought violence and obstruction as she expanded mage rights. But at last she and her husband Anders assassinated Meredith Stannard and declared the Kirkwall Circle independent, inspiring more Circle rebellions. Now the chantries of the northern Free Marches have declared a schism due to Divine Justinia’s support of Hawke, with former Grand Cleric Elthina as its “Divine.” Justinia cannot help, as the Templars and Seekers who aren’t joining the schism only care about keeping the other Circles in line. Caitlyn, Anders, the rebels, and their allies must fight the war alone.
Challenges arise at home too. With an ambitious anti-war Coterie boss undermining Caitlyn from one side, mage supremacists from the other, and Grand Cleric Petrice urging Caitlyn to deal with foes ruthlessly, she is tempted more than ever to be a despot. Anders wants to help her keep to the light... but by 9:39, he has his own struggle, a dark voice that will not let him or Justice alone.
(Canon-divergent Mage-Templar War that’s still mostly compatible with Asunder. Reading Parts 1 and 2 of the Spells series is advised.)

Summary
Lights in the Shadow is the sequel to Death and the Maiden.
Loghain Mac Tir's enemies gather to try him for war crimes. Weisshaupt and the Chantry turn on Rillian Tabris. Grand Cleric Iona tries to have the Ferelden Circle relocated to Orlais. Knight Commander Rylock finds herself an unlikely ally of Senior Enchanter Sweeney and Ines Arancia; who are (though she does not know it) her parents, having had their child taken by the Chantry.
Lambert Hawke, a penniless veteran of the Fifth Blight, struggles to keep himself and his mother alive in Kirkwall. Stories of Hawke being a mercenary or a smuggler were made up by Varric to spare his blushes; he worked at the Blooming Rose. Lambert begins a rather dark relationship with Anders. Anders loves him, but there is nothing he will not do for mage rights. Lambert ends up in a slowburn friendmance with Fenris.
Rillian, Merrill, Jowan, Ser Otto, Ariane and Clan Lavellan seek to awaken the Eluvians, cure the taint, and uncover the secrets of Weisshaupt.

Sebastian Vael never forgot about Lydia Trevelyan, knowing in his heart that her death wasn't how it was supposed to go.

If Varric Tethras had been asked how to write a novel he would have said start somewhere dramatic with a character the audience can relate to. He might have even gone on to say make sure you grab your audience and by writing what you know. If he thought you were any good he'd tell you to make sure to know when to stop the story.
If Varric was your friend, however, he would tell you to forget the whole thing. He would tell you writing will only break your heart and writing what you know means you always write a tragedy.
