Summary
Severus Snape is a clever man. As part of his trap to protect the Philosopher's stone, he fills all the potion vials (including the one meant to enable the consumer to resist fire) with Draught of the Living Death. Using a flame-freezing charm, Voldemort steals away the Mirror of Erised, unhindered by Harry Potter.
Upon gaining possession of the Philosopher's stone, circumstances force Voldemort to take up the mantle of Lord Slytherin. How does he intend to fulfill the requirement of having two Parselmouth descendants of Salazar Slytherin? Why, by abusing time travel to bring a soon-to-be eleven-year-old Tom Riddle from 1937 to 1993, of course.
Unbeknownst to Voldemort, things don't go quite as planned...
