Summary
He’d asked Evandrin what it was like to fly, to soar through the sky. To wake up each day, look from your window and see clouds melting and billowing around your home.
Evandrin’s answer was to summon his wonderful griffon Caelus, made of space and stars and darkness, to climb onto his back with an easy, practiced motion, and reach out his hand to Zerxus to help him up as well.
And up, and up, and up, until the spire of the city lay below them no bigger than a bottle and they crested the clouds, until they were higher than the birds chirring in their flocks towards the horizon and there was nothing at all between them and the sun, where Caelus stretched out his wings and coasted on the thermals as serenely as Avalir travelled suspended on the energy of the ley lines of Exandria, and it was quiet, so quiet, no sound but for the wind whistling through Evandrin’s hair and the beat of Zerxus’ own heart in his chest where it was pressed tight to Evandrin’s back. To sit in the sphere of the firmament was everything Zerxus had ever imagined – except that his mind could not have conjured a man so wonderful as the one who had brought him there.
(Or, how exactly Zerxus met Evandrin.)

Summary
Centuries after the Calamity, Zerxus's husband finds a way to rescue him from the Nine Hells. Transported beyond Exandria, Zerxus is reunited with his family in a world where impossible spelljamming ships sail the Astral Sea between pockets of Wildspace - a world filled with wonders and dangers.
But happily ever after doesn't come that easily. Rebuilding a bond with the son he sent away isn't as simple as stepping back into his life. And the entities that gave Zerxus's husband the means to rescue him require something in return - Asmodeus himself. Even with his memories and his fury stripped from him, ferrying the god across the Astral Sea has its own risks and opportunities - for how far can any of them trust the god of lies?

The Brass Ring endures.
In three sorcerous children on a University frigate, in two young eisfuura with weighty legacies, and in a boy whose fathers are lost beyond the stars and below the earth, they live on.
Or: what do a bunch of children raised in the age of wizard hubris do in the face of Armageddon?
Welcome aboard for teen shenanigans, falling angels, and Cerrit being so, so tired, in the unhinged Maya Agrupnin YA series that struck me like a freight train within an hour of the finale ending.

Notes from the Cobalt Soul, attached to a piece of stained glass depicting the Slaying of The Executioner, thought to have been crafted shortly before the end of the Calamity
Not much is known about the Executioner, beyond the fact that he was one of the Dawnfather’s Champions during the Calamity.
It is said the Dawnfather’s Executioner begged for no grave. As such, after being slayed by the Betrayer’s forces, no search party was sent after him. Recovery of the artifacts he fought with is unlikely at best.
There is no way to determine whether rumors about him being related to Asmodeus’ first Champion are true, but historical evidence suggests they clashed frequently enough during their lifetimes. Perhaps the rumors originated from here.

Author's summary:
Behind the scenes - in the cracks between planes, and the gaps behind time - the Ring of Brass lives on.The Sightwarden of Avalir lives a long life, as does his family. A person is made up of their memories, and the Archmage Por'co's memories rest in young and responsible hands. Draconic souls never truly die, and the laughing ghost of the Guildmaster is more than happy to wreak merry chaos across the many planes. If one were to look deep into the glowing blue of the ley lines, they might catch a glimpse of the Herald and the Architect Arcane, who waltz hand in hand along the flicker and spark of the magical veins.
The world ends, and then restarts again. The souls of those who saved it rest easy.
For the most part.

He leans in and kisses Zerxus again, standing on his toes and leaning against the taller man. Zerxus moves his arms, wrapping them around Evandrin’s body. The scent of flowers is sweet in the air. Tonight, the clouds hang low, about level with Avalir. The stars are clear above them, and Zerxus is wrapped tightly in the embrace of someone he just met.
Evandrin leans in and kisses him again, long and sweet. The stars are shining above them, and they hold each other and kiss until the pink of dawn approaches. -

And while the Ring of Brass tries to figure out what's wrong with their beloved leader, Evandrin, recently returned to the Age of Arcanum from over a millennia in the future, is trying to save his family from themselves, while also trying to navigate the repercussions of time travels effects on his mind.

Summary
Zerxus didn’t know where he was. He didn’t know how long it had been since Avalir fell and his body sank into the depths of Hell. He looked down at himself.
The scars still lined his body, burns and cuts healed many years past, ram’s horns still curled from his skull, but his mind and body were his own again. He wore a simple cotton tunic and black pants, though they were plastered to his skin from the sweat that drenched his body.

Summary
atonement: (noun) satisfaction or reparation for a wrong or injury; amends.
"There is no story that does not have an end.
There are, of course, unfinished stories - prose interrupted, projects discarded, words left hanging on the edge of being resolved. But even stories such as those, in a way, have found their own endings (not all ends are satisfying, and not all plots are tied in a neat little bow).
So, as it goes for all things, the end eventually comes for the Champion. "
