“Oh. Prudence, you didn’t.”
“Don’t you start with me.” She crossed her arms and tucked herself under his chin. “If I wanted a lecture, I would have gone to Merilwen.”
“I think I’m allowed to start with you for sleeping with my best friend.”
Prudence let out a low hiss. “We didn’t get that far before Corazón walked in.”
Egbert jolted upright, any thought he had for comforting cuddles flying from his mind. “Corazón walked in?!”

Summary
Rounding up paladins and chivvying them to a conclave isn't the worst job that Max has ever had, although the paladins themselves are as always something of a mixed bag. Catch up with Egbert the Careless? Great. Put up with two tabaxi from an order that apparently thinks anything enjoyable in life is heretical? One of the worst fortnights in recent memory.
Accidentally convincing Captain Shattershield of Dragon D'Or that they were asking to be seduced, and him following through on it? Well, now things just got interesting.
(Inspired by and in the continuity of my name written next to yours and a missive by sabinelagrande, might not make sense without that context.)

soulmate au: your soulmate's hands have a magnetic draw to your own.
Everything was wrong in the stupidest possible way, and it wasn’t worth being upset over, but La Vache Mauve above, Dob was going to lose it. He was a spring ready to be sprung. He was a loose cannon wheeling around for a victim. He was vibrating on the spot like he was about to explode. He was-
A large, warm hand found his own, and a magnetic draw pulled them close together. As their fingers click!ed into place, Dob took a steadying breath, and Egbert bumped his arm into Dob’s shoulder.
“Hey. You okay?”
“Well, I am now,” Dob mumbled in response.

soulmate au: when you write something on your own skin it appears on your soulmate’s skin as well.
Tattoos were… not looked upon fondly by most of the population.
In a way, Corazón understood. When anything drawn on your skin was reflected on the skin of your soulmate, it was a huge commitment to permanently mark your skin. He got that, he really did. Getting a tattoo was making a life-changing decision for both you and your soulmate.
The thing was, he just didn’t care.

Summary
Corazón didn’t like being the trademark human of the group. He didn’t like being seen as the everyman. He didn’t like being the one who had the study for his magic. He didn’t like that people approached him first in the group because he looked the least threatening, rather than the fact that he was the obvious leader.
He especially didn’t like the fact that he was the only one who went into heat, though admittedly, he would hate it even if everyone else did as well. He’d really rather be commanding the boat or drinking at the tavern or anything besides curling up in his nest and hoping that nobody ran the ship aground.

Summary
“They’re fraternal, not identical. Egon’s a boy.”
Dob fought down the urge to take a second glance at the three kids, who would look right at home in a hall of mirrors reflecting off of one another. “Oh, right, of course! Sorry, my bad.”
“I mean, Egle and Eglantine are identical obviously, but Egon isn’t,” Egbert corrected himself, confusing Dob even further.
“Obviously,” he agreed with zero comprehension. “Do you wanna talk about it more over dinner sometime?”
He could hear three gasps of shock from the car. Dob was a little stunned that he wasn’t gasping at himself, considering he hadn’t meant to say a single one of those words. He was remembering all of a sudden that he still had four students sitting in his classroom that he desperately needed to get back to.
Egbert jolted, startled. “What?”
“Huh?”

Falling head-over-heels at first sight for your students' father is always a good plan. Dob is pretty sure that's true. Nothing could go wrong here.

Summary
Egbert looked at him for another moment, assessing what his boyfriend was getting at before he responded. “Good morning, Dob.”
He tried to shuffle around him and Dob’s grip tightened, holding him in place. “Hang on! Take a look around! Is there anything you might not have noticed?”
“Uhhh.” Somewhere in the back of Egbert’s mind, he flashed back to the feeling of something touching his head, and he glanced back at the entryway. At the top of the frame, mistletoe was pinned in place, the pale berries popping against the dark wood of the ship. Egbert tilted his head. “It’s spring, isn’t it?”

Summary
Egbert stirred at the sound and she pounced before he could look up, landing with a thump on his chest.
“What the-?! Merilwen, don’t do that! I almost flame breath’d you!”
Even in the brisk stormy night, Egbert was so warm. He was dressed down, wearing a thin linen shirt and loose soft pants, and his clothes allowed even more heat to radiate off his body. She melted into his side, barely paying attention to his words as she curled into him. “Hello to you, too, Egbert.”

Summary
“That was… very kind of you, Pru, but I could have handled that myself.” Merilwen’s troubled expression broke into a lopsided grin. “I was in the middle of a gentle letdown when you came in fists blazing, actually, though that was quite the show of strength.”
“Since when did you throw punches instead of just blasting everyone with scary tentacle beams?” Dob asked, incredulous, and Prudence’s brain finally caught up with the present. She stiffed, holding herself very still as she scrambled for a response that warranted punching a face in the stranger.
After too long of a moment, she remembered that she was Prudence and she could do whatever she wanted. “Just felt like it. No one comes onto my Merilwen.”
“Awww.”
“Shut up, Dob.”
“I’m not yours, Prudence,” Merilwen replied, still amused more than anything, and Prudence shrugged.
“Sure you are.” She tried for an arrogant, above all of you silly good people tone, but from the look Merilwen gave her, she wasn’t succeeding.
