Harry Hook has been in Auradon a little while now, and he's still trying to find his place in such a different environment from what he grew up in. King Ben thinks maybe he can help, but he's also feeling the weight of carrying a kingdom on his shoulders, and Harry brings an element of fun to his life. It doesn't hurt that he's the sexiest thing Ben has ever seen, and Harry likes the way Ben blushes when he smirks at him...
POV alternates mostly between Harry and Ben, with a bit of Mal thrown in towards the beginning. The explicit rating only applies to the main pairing of Harry/Ben.
Note that the Archive warning for violence is a precaution for towards the end, and it's more descriptions of injuries than outright violence.I love love love love this pairing, and am so desperately proud of this work. I know Ben and Harry are a popular ship in this fandom, but I enjoyed giving them more depth than I even meant to when I started this story. Looking forward to sharing this journey with you all!

He stepped closer to Duke and, hesitating for a moment, put an arm around his broad shoulders. The action felt weird—forced, even. Postal Dude wasn’t exactly the hugging type. But Duke needed something, and this was all he could think of.
Duke didn’t pull away, but he didn’t exactly lean into the touch either. Postal Dude swallowed hard, feeling more awkward by the second. His face heated up, and he was grateful Duke wasn’t looking directly at him.
“Uh, there, there… or whatever,”
Postal Dude mumbled, giving Duke a light, awkward pat on the back. The words felt clumsy and stupid coming out of his mouth, but he didn’t know what else to say.

Despite the Earth getting cleansed by computers, world war III never ended. They still fought against each other and their common enemy - AM. 50 years it has been since the five survivors got locked underground. For these 50 years they had to withstand AMs torture - getting killed and reconstructed over, over, and over again. All five of them were barely recognizable as human anymore - the scars covering them from head to toe.
This fanfic was a joke until it wasn't. I will still include a lot of humoristic elements though.
