Cassian hummed. “I must’ve gotten lucky.”

Turns out, the villain had spoken too soon.
While the cat was calm with water, it did not like being dried with a towel. Cassian hadn’t even been aggressive or rough when he was drying the feline, but it seemed that the cat truly disliked being smothered by a towel and liked to attack when very unhappy.
A third of a can of cat food, a small scoop of kibble, a shallow bowl of water, and a dozen scratches on Cassian’s arms and one on his face later, the cat seemed to be happy again.
“I’ll use a hair dryer next time…” Cassian muttered to himself, finally able to settle down on his couch.
