Summary
Nearly twenty thousand years ago, the great Dragon Clan of Gusu took the rest of their sect and secluded themselves up in the mountains they called their home. What they didn't know, was that doing so would bring dire consequences for the rest of the spirit world.
For the two thousand years that he has lived, Lan Wangji was unbothered by staying above the clouds in the lofty peaks of the Cloud Recesses. He had everything he needed - his family, his classes, and his home. It was peaceful, and it was enjoyable.
That peace was ruined the day after his two thousand and one hundredth birthday. All because a crow starts throwing acorns at him.

As he weighed his options, he failed to notice the fox had closed the distance and was now rubbing its snout over his hand. It made a sound akin to a purr, and after a brief pause, Lan Wangji scooped it into his arms and stowed it away inside his robes.
