After Aventurine dies in Penacony, the IPC commissions the Genius Society to bring him back by building an Intellitron. Dr. Veritas Ratio, Aventurine’s bereaved husband, insists on joining the project. However, the Intellitron version of Aventurine is nothing like him—rather, it is a cruel mockery of him, embodying only his worst qualities. Ratio spirals into even deeper grief, but not all hope is lost. Aventurine was always incredibly lucky, after all. Featuring Genius Society shenanigans, lots of background lesbianism, and a good, healthy dose of author projection.

Ratio struggles to focus, like a cloud of fog has settled over his brain. His skin is too hot, yet goosebumps break out all down his arms. Nobody is paying attention, so he brings the back of his hand to his face, noting a warmth along his cheeks and forehead, which is when realisation hits him-
He can’t be sick. Can he?
But it would be foolish to believe otherwise when the symptoms are so clearly obvious: headache, sore throat, aching limbs and physical fatigue, mild brain fog and concentration difficulties, loss of appetite, and of course, the rising body temperature.
Indeed, Ratio is sick.

Introducing, the demigod au (kinda) no one asked for that I am serving up. (First three chapters will be re-written and updated slightly)
The gods were cruel, selfish beings, ruling over mortals without a care for their safety. If things didn’t go the way the gods wanted, they’d lash out in anger. They abused their power and manipulated anyone they could, even their own children. If their children died, they showed no grief or sorrow. After all, demigods were half-mortal. A demigod dying was nothing in the eyes of the gods.
Some would argue the gods were just as bad or even worse than the Aeons. At least some of THEM didn’t kill people. Some of THEM wanted to better grow the galaxy and others wanted to destroy and use people. None of THEM were truly good, but THEY were still better in the fact THEY didn’t have children just to watch them die or to just kill them. So, if you were to ask him, he’d say the Aeons were better than the gods.
But, he should have known. No one ever escaped the Fates or the gods’ ambitions.

Absently, Aventurine fixes the crooked folds of Veritas’ belt. “What a very you answer, Doctor.”
