It was a woman.
A Human woman by the looks of it.
She was now standing right in front of him, looking down at him with a slight tilt to her head. He was still kneeling on the ground so the height difference of his crouched form to her standing threw him off, momentarily forgetting about his throbbing pain in his abdomen or tight pressure in his chest as he simply took in her features.
She was young— younger than him at least— but he couldn’t determine her age behind the layers of paint on her face, masking her features. Her eyes were dark, shining with unknown emotion, her gaze piercing as she watched him. The tilt of her head was the only giveaway that she was curious about him. Without having the Force to rely on, Vader was having a hard time reading her.
His eyes scanned the rest of her figure, briefly noticing the same paint covering her body as was her face, which reminded him of a war paint, with stripes of red, black and white colors adorning her smooth skin. She wore nothing on top except beads and several necklaces hanging off her neck, with the most prominent ones catching Vader’s gaze that looked to be teeth and bones.
