Summary
The game was never really meant to be won. It's output, the universe John could never really call home, is cursed. So when John and Calliope are faced with two, equally bad options, they decide to go for a third.
What if instead of destroying Lord English, they made sure he never existed in the first place? Maybe it really was possible to fix everything. To truly have a happy ending.
So John (now with Aradia by his side), reluctantly prepares for another retcon. And, unbeknownst to everyone but her, Calliope calls in a favor. For a fleeting moment, a perfect future is within their grasp.
However, when faced with "canon" once again, they find out the hard way that it could never be that easy. Every win comes with a brutal sacrifice, by the time they realize, it's too late. Not wanting to doom the timeline they created, their only hope is that, perhaps, the path to heaven goes through hell first.

Summary
Callie has always been very mysterious, never saying much about her home life, at least not intentionally. The fact she uses a typing quirk is the only clue to her being a troll. She most recently let slip that she not only lives on Earth, but in Seattle, and given the coincidence that John and the rest of their online friend group are in the city for a convention, he had thought he might be able to convince her to come meet them in a public space, if she was still afraid they might not be who they say they are.
But John is beginning to wonder if maybe what Callie is afraid of isn’t found in the outside world, but much, much closer to home.

The translated story of a Homestuck Roleplay server into a fanfiction. This is the alchemized passions of tens of people, coalesced into this spoken song.
Homestuck Sunbound follows an Earth, except it is combined with the socioeconomic, and cultural climates of Alternia, and Beforus, too. 500 years after Her Imperious Condescension's death, the society she championed still marches on. In a wider cosmos, though, power can still gather more of itself. The society is still implicitly, and explicitly, bigoted. The lower, "castes," if such a word had ever been made obsolete, are still exploited for the benefit of their owners- their entrepreneurial benefactors. It's not remarkably different from our socioeconomic climate, save for its exceptional brutality.
The story follows multiple perspectives. Your starting characters are Rhea Lalonde, in her quest for freedom, connection, and family, and Caliborn in his quest for domination, and ultimately, wholeness. You will gather more perspectives as you read.
The creation of a universe is still very much on the line, though the threat of world destruction is no longer present. And none of these characters get to choose who they have to play with.
