On the sofa across from her, Varian cradles his mug and stares impassively at the floor. The tea's fresh, and its heat through his gloves is the only thing that keeps him present in reality. He can smell the steam, and he focuses on it, rather than the way Rapunzel's looking at him like he'll shatter if she dares misstep. -

I really don't know how to do summaries, sorry. The title says it all.
Basically, Varian moves to Stardew Valley after his grandfather passes away, burnt out and unmotivated. However, he meets Hugo, and loner who might just manage to re-ignite his passion for science.
You don't need to have any prior knowledge of/have played Stardew Valley to read :)
